The PA CareerLink at Wilkes-Barre provides services to help you explore your career options. If you're changing careers or seeking a career for the first time, these services are ideal for you:

  • O*Net Interest Profiler: A self-assessment career exploration tool that can help job seekers discover the type of work activities and occupations that they would like and find exciting. Job seekers identify and learn about broad areas most relevant to their interests. They can use their interest results to make career decisions.
  • WorkKeys®: An important first step to prepare for education, training or a career is assessing your skills. WorkKeys® scores assist job seekers in comparing their skills to the skills that real jobs require. Employers use these scores to choose the most qualified candidates for their jobs.
  • Resources: Our Career Resource Center has all the information you need on local education and training programs in a variety of career areas.
  • Career Development Workshops: Many workshops are offered each month at the Wilkes-Barre CareerLink office to assist you in preparing for interviews and for a new career, including:
    • Interviewing for Success
    • Creating a Great Résumé
    • Introduction to Computers
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Financial Aid
    • Career Decision Making
    • Email and Internet
    • Pathways to Federal Employment

Additionally, the PA CareerLink at Wilkes-Barre's Job Club is a weekly networking group designed to assist job seekers with their employment search. Job Club members are people from various backgrounds who come together to provide job leads, improve job-searching skills, learn about company culture, receive tips on résumé and interviewing skills, listen to invited human resource professionals, and provide emotional support during the job hunt. Meetings are held weekly for one to two hours at the PA CareerLink office in Wilkes-Barre. Seating is limited. Participants must register before attending.
