On Thursday, August 12th, the PA Department of Labor & Industry is observing PA CareerLink® day throughout the commonwealth to encourage anyone who is unemployed or underemployed to join the workforce in PA. To celebrate, the PA CareerLink® Luzerne/Schuylkill Counties we’ll be hosting a series of events throughout the day to highlight how our programs and services help job seekers find employment, whether it be training and education to advance along your career pathway or 1:1 job search assistance.
To kick things off, on Wed., Aug. 11 the PA CareerLink® Schuylkill County office is hosting a Job & Education Fair at the Fairlane Village Mall from 10 AM to 4 PM. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet with hiring employers as well as representatives from local colleges and universities to jump-start their careers. Food trucks will be on-site too!
Then, on Thursday, Aug. 12, for PA CareerLink® Day, all three offices will be offering resume reviews in the morning, hiring events on-site with local employers, a Lunch and Learn about PA CareerLink® programs and services on our Facebook pages, and a workshop on Navigating the PA CareerLink® Website in the afternoon.
We’ll be asking job seekers to register on pacareerlink.pa.gov to search and apply for jobs locally. We also encourage job seekers to text a keyword to receive a link with recent job opportunities posted locally:
- Text “HotJobs” to subscribe for a weekly text alert with recent job opportunities in Luzerne County
- Text “TrabajosCalientes” for those same opportunities in Spanish
- Text “SkookJobs” for a weekly text alert with recent job opportunities in Schuylkill County
